Dental Implants

While they’re not the only option for replacing a missing tooth, implants are the most lifelike, durable, and long-lasting, and can also help promote a healthier jaw bone.

This is because dental implants are made from titanium, which possesses the unique property of osseointegration: the implant literally fuses to the bone in your jaw, creating a rock-solid foundation that handles bite pressure the same way a natural tooth would.

With proper care, an implant can last a lifetime! Dental implants are a versatile tooth replacement procedure ideal for the following smile concerns:

  • Replacing one or more missing tooth
  • Supporting removable dentures
  • Supporting permanent dentures

We offer the following dental implant systems:

  • Single Dental Implant
  • All-On-4 Dental Implant
  • Hybrid Dental Implants
  • Implant-Retained Dentures

Root Canals

Ever heard the phrase “I’d rather have a root canal?” While this may be a well-known idiom, the truth is that root canals are far from the painful procedures they’re made out to be.

Root canals are used to treat a tooth with advanced dental decay, where bacteria have penetrated the enamel and dentin and infected the fleshy pulp at the center of the tooth. Without proper treatment, the infection can then spread into the jaw, threatening both the affected tooth and nearby teeth.

A root canal involves clearing away dead and diseased tissue, filling the root canal (the hollow chamber in the center of a tooth) with a strong, biocompatible material, then closing the tooth and repairing it with a lifelike filling or crown. At Passes Dental Care, gentle root canals are performed under anesthesia and are a virtually painless procedure, and because they let us save teeth that would otherwise be lost, they prevent a lot of pain in the long run!

Dental Fillings

Perhaps the most well-known dental procedure of all, dental fillings have been around for a long time. A filling is used to treat a cavity by removing decayed tissue, sterilizing the tooth, then replacing damaged tissue with a filler material. In the past, dentists used a silver amalgam filler material, but modern dentistry allows us to use a strong, safe, tooth-colored material that blends naturally with surrounding teeth. Fillings are quick, easy, and almost painless, making it easy to restore your smile from cavities.

Dental Crowns

Each crown is a durable “cap” that’s placed over the tooth, replicating the appearance and function of a natural tooth.

During the procedure, we will carefully remove all damaged tissue, shape the tooth to fit the crown, then place a temporary crown. You’ll have the temporary crown for about two weeks, allowing us time to custom-craft your own personalized dental crown, usually made from porcelain or a tooth-colored composite material. Finally, we’ll bring you in for a second appointment to remove the temporary crown and place your permanent one to complete your smile restoration.

Dental Bridges

Bridges are another option for replacing lost teeth. The difference between dental bridges and implants is that instead of a titanium post as an anchor, bridges use two adjacent crowns to anchor the replacement tooth in the smile. Bridges can be made from either porcelain or a white composite material, and we custom-make and color match your dental bridge to match the rest of your natural smile. Dental bridges come in three varieties, each of which has a specialized application:

Traditional Bridge: The most common type, this bridge uses a replacement tooth with two adjacent crowns, one on either side. This is used to replace most teeth.

Cantilever Bridge: This bridge also anchors a replacement tooth to two crowns, but has the two crowns stacked on the same side. This is commonly used for replacing the rear molars.

Maryland Bridge: These bridges use tooth-colored metal rings attached to adjacent teeth to anchor the replacement tooth instead of crowns. They’re most common for replacing the front teeth, which may be too skinny to conveniently use a crown.
